There's a lot of stuff on the internet about women's health, including how to perform a menstrual extraction, herbal abortions (and what's wrong with them). In light of the threat to Roe, some people are saying you should learn how to do them, not theoretically, but actually. Because you will need to do it. I'm not sure I agree with that...
I know that with the advent of antibiotics, abortion is much safer, and even illegal abortions will be safer, and women won't necessarily die, but that's not really the issue, is it? I mean, do we only care about abortion being legal if the alternative is death?
A lot of that discussion, as usual, involves the question of when life begins (and then fetal rights, see below). I wholly agree with Kevin that when life begins isn't the issue. The issue is one of autonomy and bodily integrity (liberty).
