Biography

As a native of the DC area, Cara grew up with national and international politics as normal topics of conversation. This gave her a worldwide perspective, widened by her travels to 19 countries, including recent trips to Israel and South Africa to do research on human rights and socially responsible businesses.

Before earning her JD and MBA at Case Western Reserve University, Cara volunteered in India, working on women's rights and child pornography laws. While in graduate school, she worked at an abortion clinic part-time and researched various topics including forced pregnancy, prosecuting corporations for violating human rights laws, microfinance and corporate governance. Her internships and coursework included pro-choice organizations and international legal reform non-profits such as the World Bank, the ICC, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and International Bridges to Justice.
