The article notes that it is not just that fetuses have rights (as against would-be attackers, etc.) but against the woman. Laws prohibiting pregnant women from smoking, drinking, or doing drugs are being considered. There was a law in SC a few years ago that criminalized a pregnant woman's drug use. The law was held to be an unconsitutional search and seizure. I'm running late, so check out the article, and AGI's brief on the issue.
